About Kwame

For award-winning film-maker and visual artist Kwame Lestrade, stills photography is where it all began - and what continues to drive him.

A self-taught photographer, he developed his technique as a fashion photographer - using medium-format cameras,  scanning negatives and editing published editorials in 2001.

​

Fast forward to 2020 and he has developed a vibrant and versatile portfolio across multiple categories - working with brands including BBC, Historic Royal Palaces, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Royal Shakespeare Company, Sainsbury's, Hugo Boss and many others.

Kwame is based in North London, is an avid reader, pretty decent cook and professional coffee drinker.
